Flying Through the Air with the Greatest of Ease

Yesterday I went to see the Cirque du Soleil with the 16 year old and the 6 year old. It was just perfect for both of them. They both stared in wide-eyed awe as the performers tumbled and spun and leapt and sang. At one point a male acrobat was spinning inside a giant hula hoop like a giant gyroscope and the 6 year old leaned over and whispered confidently, “I can do that!” Now that is priceless. I hope they carry the evening with them for a long time because it is a little bit magic, which is what the circus is all about, isn’t it? And maybe I needed a little bit of magic too.
