Hello, Alan. Thanks for stopping by and you are welcome. I’ve posted this same review on Amazon, too, as I noticed none of your readers had written anything yet. I don’t post my reviews on Amazon too often, tending to put most of them on Goodreads and here. I can see why you would be confused about navigating Apple: Kafkaesque indeed. No one here gets out alive! (From a woman who is still freaked out by her dependence on iTunes.) I would not be too concerned about the discrepancy, since the number nine works well in your title and since people will be happy to discover that they get an extra story for free :)

Thank you so much for such a considered, well thought out and well written review, I really appreciate it. Just in case this starts a stampede of readers towards e-book outlets (!) – it’s a little confusing because on iTunes it’s called 9 Short stories, whilst on Kindle it is called 10 Short Stories – but both contain 10. I added one and republished but couldn’t navigate the kafkaesque world of Apple.

Well, it’s hard to argue with the moral authority of Dr. Seuss, so I have to agree with you there. Perhaps they are all just crying out to be understood, but without vocal chords, it’s so hard for us humans to hear the desperation behind the chorus: “We are Sam, Sam we am!”

This made me laugh so hard. I used to rehab possums. You really have to know them to love them (and sometimes some of them are still not THAT loveable). I thought this was a moon pic, too! Hope you and yours are doing well!

And thanks for replying…! My name’s actually Alan, my pen name is A.W. Wilson, which looks a bit pretentious, but I’ve got a really common name!

The Aneurin Wright graphic novel is not so much about the mythical beast, but just his representation of himself in relation to his father. But yes, I have a similar interest in the mythology surrounding the old tales. I recently read Grendel by John Gardner, which is through the monster’s eyes and is quite heartbreaking too. In fact I’m going to do a review on goodreads while I think of it, here goes!
