The Horrors of Huffling Snails

“James gave the huffle of a snail in danger. And nobody heard him at all.”
― A.A. Milne
During one softly raining afternoon last week, my husband wandered down to our letter box to get the mail, only to find that our credit card bills had been partially eaten by unlikely predators: common garden snails. Turns out that “snail mail” is not always a metaphor. We faced some challenges identifying the perpetrators (they all look alike to us), so we settled for talented stand-ins for the photo shoot. Warning: the final shot is somehow grotesque, even though nothing much is happening; best avoided while eating if you are sensitive to huffling snails.

The last shot calls to mind that movie “The Food of the Gods” (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074540/).
